Another successful year

It was a good season of football and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the parents for coming out each week and supporting our club. I would especially like to thank all the coaches who dedicated their time to teaching the kids. They took their time and came out each week to help our kids and they did a wonderful job of it.

We will start again in September with a couple for registration days on the 12th and 19th. Then it all starts again after Ramadan on October 10th with practices again. I look forward to seeing most of you out there again next season. Have a wonderful summer break and remember to keep practicing those skills over the summer.

End Of Season

The end of the season is fast approaching. We will have 2 more sessions before the end of the year. We will officially finish up on MAy 9th. The weather is getting warmer so to save any suffering we will wrap things up. Please let others know of this if they have not heard. We will tell the kids at soccer this week.

It has been a good seaon and we have developed in many ways through the year.

I would like to thank all the coaches who have dedicated their free time to helping out. We need more for next year so please think about it, no experience or skills are needed, just time dedication. We have had some issues but most are minor and have been sorted each week.

Cancelled Practice

Practice will be cancelled on March 21 and MArch 28. The field we use has been book by another organization. We will try to make up the missed practices at the end of the season if the weather allows us to.

Also I would like to invite everyone to join us for the Terry Fox run on March 14 after practice. Registration begins at noon and the run starts at 2pm. There will be food and games for all who wish to join in the fun. You can walk, run, ride, rollerblade your way around either a 2km loop or 5km loop. Hope to see most of you out there suopporting a good cause.

To All Coaches

This is a request once again to all coaches. If you are unable to attend one week let me know and find someone to cover for you. If there are others with you this does not mean you are covered. You need to coordinate the efforts with them. It has now occurred 3 weeks in a row where coaches are not attending and an entire group has no coach. This club runs on the volunteer parents and cannot continue without parent support.

If this continues I will be forced to shut down age groups due to a lack of parent support. I have several coaches who have shown exceptional dedication and are there every week or have found someone to cover; to all of you I extend my thanks.

Happy New Year

Happy new year and welcome back. I hope the holiday season say everyone through safely. We will be starting back on Friday January 11 at 8 am. I look forward to seeing everyone back again for some fun football training.

Uniforms will be ready for pickup next week at training. I appologize they were supposed to be ready this week, however there were problems over the holidays. If you signed up for a size there will be a pack with your name on it. If you did not sign up then you will have to choose from what is left.

Cancelled Soccer Practice

I hate to inform people that soccer practice scheduled for December 7 and December 14 will have to be cancelled. The field we use is in use by another group so we will be unable to practice. We will resume practice on January 11th as ussual. I look forward to seeing everyone back in the new year and will keep people posted over the holidays.

Housekeeping issues

First I would like to thank everyone for their support of the cub so far this season. It has been a rough start, but with your help it has been good. Second I would like to say to the coaches your help is greatly appreciated and we could not do this without you.

Now for the other side of things. A few reminders to parents. There must be someone on the field responsible for your child at all times. If your child gets hurt we cannot stand around and wait for you to come and take them to the hospital. You do not have to be there every week but someone on the field has to be responsible for your child at all times while practice is going on. We do not foresee any injuries but like any sport they do occur from time to time.

Third, if you are helping out by coaching there will be a quick meeting after practice this week. If you could stick around for a few extra minutes that would be appreciated. Also if you are coaching and you know you are going to be away, please ask someone to cover for you. It happened last week were we had to ask a parent on the sidelines to jump in because both the coaches for one of the age groups were away and had not let anyone else know. This can cause problems for the players and they should not be punished because the coach is not there.

Finally, I will be bringing the uniforms for sizing this week so if you could take a minute and come see what size your son or daughter needs I will have a sample of each. They are the same as last year, if you want another that is good if you do not want an extra outfit that is your choice. I will place the order once I have all the sizes and know how many to order.

If there are any other issues let me know and I will look into addressing them as soon as possible.
